Funerals

Rest in peace and rise in glory

Organising a funeral for a loved one can be an upsetting and stressful process, Monmouth Marches Ministry Area is here to support you through the experience.

If you would like a funeral to be provided with the Church in Wales, please let your funeral director know and they will contact the relevant clergy at the church you wish the service to take place at.

Just as every person is unique, so their funeral should be. The clergy member responsible for the service will talk with you about the life you want to give thanks for and celebrate.

We are here to support you before, during and after the funeral. For more information about the pastoral support we offer, please click here.

The Church in Wales provides some useful guidance about what to do when someone dies, and how to start planning a funeral that looks and feels best for you. Click below to find out more.

Funerals – The Church in Wales

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures;
he leads me beside still waters;
he restores my soul.
He leads me in right paths
for his name’s sake.

(Psalm 23:1-3)
