Baptisms and Christenings

A baptism in Islwyn Church

Welcome to our Christian family!

Believing starts with belonging; we hope that a christening, where your child will be baptised, in our ministry area will prove to be the start of your child’s amazing journey with God.

The christening can take place during a church’s regular service, but some are held independent from the congregation at a separate time where just your family and friends are present.

Baptism is the Church’s free gift to all. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch, our ministry team will be thrilled to help guide you through this glorious and joyful sacrament.

And when Jesus had been baptized, just as he came up from the water, suddenly the heavens were opened to him and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. 17 And a voice from heaven said, ‘This is my Son, the Beloved,[a] with whom I am well pleased.’ (Matthew 3:16-17).

By filling out our contact form, somebody from our team will be in touch to talk you through the process of arranging such a special day.

Raising children can bring inexpressible joy, but we can also acknowledge that it can bring its own challenges too. Many of our churches run child-centred sessions where you can connect with other parents. Find out more by heading to our ‘Children and Families’ page.
